The Kindle Colorsoft has a lot going for it, but the price was a massive barrier to entry, that is until the Prime Day sale came along.
If you don’t already have a Kindle e-reader to hand then I cannot recommend one enough. I’ve had a Kindle on my person for well over a decade now and it’s one of the few devices I can’t leave the house without. If you’ve yet to hop aboard the e-book bandwagon then there’s one outstanding Prime Day offer just waiting to be pounced on.
The only Kindle of the bunch to feature a colour screen, the Kindle Colorsoft, is now available for just £184.99 which is the cheapest price I’ve seen it go for yet. Compared to the original price of £269.99 which was just too high for our liking, the Colorsoft is now a much easier device to recommend as it’s more competitively priced against not just other Kindles, but also competing devices from the likes of Kobo.

The Kindle Colorsoft is now cheaper than ever
The Kindle Colorsoft has plummeted to its lowest price yet, making the only colour-screen Kindle a far better buy than ever before.

It wasn’t that long ago that the idea of having any colour whatsoever on an e-reader seemed impossible, and yet it’s a reality on the Kindle Colorsoft. This means that the Colorsoft is far better suited than any other Kindle when it comes to reading graphic novels or picture books that rely on colour for maximum effect.
The inclusion of colour also makes a big difference when it comes to highlighting passages of a book. You can use different colours to signify a certain type of note, which is very helpful for any students analysing a text.
Of course, this colour screen sits on top of the brilliant set of features already established by the Kindle Paperwhite. There’s a front-light that makes it very easy to read in bed or in a low-light setting, and you can tweak the colour from a bluish light to a warmer amber variant that’s very soft on the eyes.
Not only can you top up the Kindle Colorsoft via a USB-C connection, there’s also wireless charging available via a compatible Amazon charger. If you have one of those chargers by your bedside then you can top up the Colorsoft overnight so that you’re ready to go the next morning.
As you’d imagine with a Kindle device however, you won’t need to charge up the Colorsoft too often as it can last for up to eight-weeks at a time. The device is also waterproof, so if it does get a little splashed during a poolside read, you won’t have a thing to worry about.
Thanks to this Amazon Prime Day deal, the Kindle Colorsoft is arguably down to the price it always should have been to become a more widely recommended device, which is why now’s the time to nab it.
